99 Cent Store Find of the Day

First I bought one and thought, "okay, I'll give it a try after all it's only 99 cents!" After using it and producing deliciously clean and streak free windows and mirrors, I went back and bought 6 more! No more paper towels for me. These babies are reusable and work like a charm.

Homemade LAundry Soap Tutorial

Recipe: 3 Pints Water 1/3 bar (1/2 C) grated Laundry Soap Bar 1/2 C Washing Soda 1/2 C Borax Hot Water to 2 gallons Supplies Needed: Pot Spoon for Stirring 2 Gallon Bucket Empty Laundry Soap Containers Funnel Directions: Mix Grated Soap in a pot with 3 Pints of water. Heat on low until the soap is dissolved. Turn heat off and add the Washing Soda and Borax. Stir to mix well. Pour into 2 gallon bucket and add water to fill. Mix well and let the mixture sit for 24 hours. It will be gloppy and will thicken. Use 1/2 c of soap per load. Fels Naptha is difficult to find in a store. I had to order mine online. Other suitable Laundry Bar Soap can be found at the 99 cent Store or at Vallarta. Ideally a food processor that is designated just for soap making would be best, I grated my soap by hand, YIKES! Homemade All Purpose Spray AKA Fantastic, 409, Etc

Okay here is my first attempt at blogging some of my homemade cleaning supply recipes. You will need: 1 T Liquid Dish Soap (Not dishwasher soap) 1 T Murphys Oil Soap 1 T Ammonia 2 T Vinegar 1 t borax Peppermint oil (Optional) Food coloring (Also Optional) Warm water Clean, empty 1 gallon milk carton for mixing Empty spray bottles Funnel (Caution never mix ammonia and bleach, it can kill you!) NOTES: While the list of ingredients seems a bit long, once you have these items you will be able to make this spray for years and years to come at pennies a bottle. I used to have to buy Borax through the mail, until I found it at Smart and Final YAY! Steps: Add first 5 ingredients to bottle. I love adding Peppermint Oil because I love that minty smell when I am cleaning. I also add a few drops of food coloring so that no one mistakes my concoction for water.
